### Introduction to the Role Canvs is looking for a user experience designer to help deliver interface design solutions for our clients externally and our products internally. You can read about the kind of clients we work with here. As a Designer, you will be responsible for delivering modern, high-impact and delightful user experiences along with delivering gold-standard visual design (user interface) and motion design when applicable, to complement product strategy and communication. * * * ### What the Role Involves Researching: Product and Business All problem statements in design require reading up on the business context and product know how to varying depths. The more a design team learns with each project the less foreign every new business problem looks to its members. Not to mention, in the long term having knowledge of diversely different fields helps create lateral connections between them which bear unexpected non linear results while designing products. **Conceptualising ideas** As the first job of a designer you will be required to conceptualize solutions to design problems given to you. You’ll be expected to deeply understand multiple aspects of such design problems like business and regulatory implications, product GTM, customer friendliness, brand expectations, among others. You shall present your potential solutions with approach notes, IA’s, wireframes, high fidelity UIs as the problem demands. **Work on Design Deliverables** You’ll work on high-quality deliverables basis the requirements of both external (client) and internal (product) projects. Deliverables are centred around user research, product flows, product structuring, wireframing and high-quality user interface design. We work primarily using Figma for interface design. As a practice we do not differentiate between the traditional notions of separating solutions from visuals. Visuals are a part of the solution and being good at visual design is fundamental to being a good designer. Hence being a good designer at Canvs means having a very strong sense of craftsmanship. While you are expected to be good at thinking through complex problems you shall also be equally expected to be able to deliver high fidelity interface designs that solve the problem. In fact, that job extends to interaction design and hence motion design and prototyping. Being able to conceptually solve a problem is only half the solution. Being able to design modern, crisp and sharp interfaces that deliver on that solution is yes another thing, often the primary differentiator among designers. **Prototyping** Delivering on design involves a lot of prototyping. Prototypes are critical to explain user flows, microinteractions, transitions etc and are critical to translate your vision into actual developed interfaces. Protos are useful both to business and engineering. You will be expected to have a strong hold on Figma prototyping and a basic hold of After effects for slightly trickier problems in interaction design. Knowledge of after effects isn’t compulsory but can be learnt while you work with us. **Presenting/Defending Ideas and Concepts** Being able to present your design is a critical part of design. You’ll be expected to present and explain the interfaces you design in front of stakeholders, internal and possibly external. Presentation skills include visual chops applicable to actual presentation design and communication chops in being able to make your point. We are fully remote setup so communication is a highly critical part of our daily work. * * *
