**If space is the new Silk Route, we must build roads so that our future generations can go explore the ever-expanding universe. Our responsibility at Kawa Space is to build the building blocks for space exploration.** We're looking to hire our **first** Product Designer to work with our Founder/CEO. Kawa's mission is to hyper commercialize space and the first step in that is to build a remarkable software backbone. We are backed by some of the greatest institutional venture investors and founders of culture-defining startups. **What you’ll do:** - Conceive innovative new features and pitch those concepts directly to the CEO - Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams - Kawa Space is a design-led company and as a member of the Design Team you will be expected to lead projects and teams - Design beautiful, simple, innovative, and intuitive experiences and flows - Identify the needs of Kawa's customers and improve on existing features - Help define the short and long-term roadmap for your product area(s) - Regularly give and receive feedback on designs and strategic product decisions **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Excellent communication and presentation skills. You’ll be expected to clearly communicate design decisions to leadership, the rest of the team, and to engineers - Strong leadership skills - Strong visual design skills and passion for interaction design - Ability to prototype interactive mobile experiences - Ability to think at a high level about product strategy - Capable of acting as a Product Manager when needed - A creative thinker who has lots of ideas and sees solutions when most would not - Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous work environment - A passion for Space exploration **Minimum Qualifications:** - BS/BA/CS degree or equivalent years of experience - 2+ years experience designing and shipping software applications - Demonstrable experience using Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or other design tools - Demonstrable experience using GitHub **Preferred Qualifications:** - Technical background or familiarity with software engineering - A portfolio showcasing your work and strong mobile design skills - Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, or other design tools
