Company: MAVR Role: UI/UX & Brand Design Intern Type: Internship Work Mode: Remote / Flexible Compensation: Unpaid Internship Duration: 3 months Industry: Fitness Technology / SaaS / Health & Fitness Ecosystem About MAVR MAVR is building a connected technology ecosystem for the fitness industry across trainers, athletes, and gyms. Our ecosystem includes: MAVR Trainer — a Career, Coaching, Business & Growth OS for fitness professionals MAVR Athlete — a connected fitness experience that brings workouts, progress, trainers, and fitness history together MAVR Gym — a Growth & Operations OS helping gyms manage their business while improving acquisition, retention, and revenue We are currently building the early product and brand foundation and are looking for a designer who wants to contribute directly to the visual identity and product experience of an early-stage startup. About the Role We are looking for a UI/UX & Brand Design Intern who can help shape how MAVR looks, feels, and communicates across its products and brand. This is not only a graphic-design internship. You will work on both: Product Design — designing the MAVR Trainer, Athlete and Gym experiences. Brand Design — developing a consistent and premium visual system across social media, website, presentations, campaigns, and product communication. You will work closely with the founders, product team, and developers. What You’ll Work On UI/UX Design Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI screens. Create intuitive experiences for trainers, athletes, and gym owners. Work closely with developers to convert product requirements into usable interfaces. Design dashboards, onboarding flows, profiles, workout experiences, progress tracking, client-management systems, and business tools. Conduct basic competitor and UX research. Improve existing designs based on user feedback and testing. Build reusable UI components and maintain design consistency. Help create and maintain the MAVR Design System. Design responsive experiences for mobile and web. UX Thinking You should think beyond making screens attractive. We expect you to ask: What is the user trying to accomplish? What should they see first? How many steps does this action require? Where could the user become confused? How can we reduce friction? What information deserves attention? How should the experience differ for trainers, athletes, and gym owners? Branding Help strengthen MAVR's overall visual identity. Develop typography, layout, iconography, imagery, and visual-system guidelines. Design marketing assets for social media and campaigns. Create launch creatives, banners, landing-page visuals, and advertisements. Help design presentations and pitch materials. Maintain consistent branding across product, website, social media, and offline communication. Translate MAVR's positioning into strong visual storytelling. Our Design Direction We want MAVR to feel: Modern. Premium. Powerful. Intelligent. Minimal. Performance-driven. We are looking for someone who understands that a premium design does not mean adding more visual elements. The goal is to create an experience that feels clean, intentional, trustworthy, and easy to use. What We’re Looking For You should have: Basic-to-strong understanding of UI/UX design principles. Experience using Figma. Understanding of wireframing and prototyping. Good sense of typography, spacing, hierarchy, and visual composition. Ability to design mobile and web interfaces. Interest in branding and visual identity. Ability to understand a product problem before designing the screen. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and communicate ideas clearly. Willingness to take feedback and iterate quickly. Bonus Skills These are not mandatory, but will be valuable: Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator After Effects Framer Webflow Motion/UI animation Design systems UX research Social media design SaaS/mobile-app design experience Interest in fitness, health-tech, or sports technology What We Don’t Want We are not looking for someone who: only copies designs from Dribbble or Behance focuses entirely on aesthetics without understanding UX creates complex interfaces when a simple experience would work better needs detailed instructions for every small design decision We want someone who can understand: the problem → the user → the flow → the experience → the visual solution. What You’ll Gain You will get the opportunity to: Work directly on a real early-stage product. Design products that will be tested with actual trainers, athletes, and gyms. Work closely with founders and developers. Understand how product decisions are made inside a startup. Build meaningful UI/UX and branding work for your portfolio. Participate in product discussions rather than only receiving design tasks. Gain exposure to product strategy, user research, startup branding, and design systems. Potentially grow into a larger design role with MAVR as the company expands, based on performance and business requirements. Internship Structure This is currently an unpaid internship. We are therefore looking for someone primarily interested in gaining hands-on startup experience, building meaningful portfolio work, and taking ownership of real product and brand design. Candidates should apply only if they are comfortable with the unpaid nature of the internship.
